Has it really been over a month since I last put a post out?! Obviously it has been…wow. I could use the excuses of dentist trips, week-long reunion, housekeeping, yard-keeping, ect, but really I just haven’t made time to sit down and blog. Right now I’m resolving to do better by keeping my at-least weekly updates going. With that said, how about a few updates on the garden.
Really there’s too much to put into one post, so instead here’s a few pictures. I bet you won’t be able to guess what the topic of the next few posts is 🙂
The chickens started laying their first eggs the end of July! Yeah! We now get about 2 a day, and with 2 dozen in the fridge now, I need to start using them more.
We’re slowly collecting our parsnip and carrot seeds. We still can’t believe how tall the seed stalks are!
We were gone for a week, and there were a few things to pick when we got back 🙂 The white scallop squash is new for us this year- isn’t it pretty!
This tomato plant wasn’t looking so healthy when we left for the week, but now it is really bad. I decided to pull it just so the other tomato plant next to it wouldn’t get infected.
We like to make choke cherry syrup, and this year instead of juicing them by hand hubby decided to order a steam juicer! It looks real nice, we’ll see how it does with the juicing.
There you go- in a nutshell our garden as it stands right now.
Happy Gardening! 🙂
