We have had our indoor Rise Family garden for 3 months now. It has been fun to use! Even though there’s been a lot of snow outside, we have been enjoying fresh herbs and lettuce inside! We’ve also learned a lot in these 3 months. For instance:
- The water tank doesn’t stay full for very long! We live in a fairly dry climate, especially in the winter, but the plants also use quite a bit of water each day. I’ve been adding about a gallon of water approximately every 3 days.
- Succession planting is important. The plants need to be pulled out sooner than I originally thought they would. I’m learning to start new plants sooner than I originally did so that I have new plants ready to replace the old ones. If I don’t remove old plants soon enough they will start to “stretch”, try to go to seed, and the roots get extremely large and hard to remove!
